Taking Back My Maysa

Stuck in a sensual groove right now. She’s in my head. My blood. My soul. I gave her up but I never really let her go. She’s ever-present in my moods. Soft. Sultry. Sexy AF. Her smooth mellow notes carving deep, permanent grooves in the vinyl of my life. Her renditions seduce me, open me up in ways un-imagined. Her ebb and flow, her push and pull, rock the deepest parts of my sensuality. She brings out the shy parts of me and makes me want to tease and please in a dance of intimate belonging that I would happily drown in forever.

Yeah…

Music that makes you want to f#ck will always make me…mmm…wanna f#ck. πŸ˜‰

The boys started it back in the day. And serious ‘props’ due. These songs are intertwined in the tapestry of my teenage-puppy-lovin’-young-adult years when I was into boys – (cuz girls were hot but just plain scared me lol) – and I loved them all. Major Harris played a major role in losing my virginity…twice lol. But when I first heard Maysa Leak, and how she leveled these songs up a notch, well, she added a whole new dimension to my coming out experience. When I heard her renditions, I literally melted. It was easy to get lost in her soulful croon. It still is.

But it wasn’t that long ago I couldn’t listen to these songs. They pulled me way down into the rabbit hole. Took me to the sad and lonely places filled with longing and loss. But they don’t do that now. At least, not like they used to. Now, I can listen and appreciate the beautiful artistry of these sentimental love songs without going to the hurting place.
I’m glad they aren’t completely spoiled for me.

My girl deserves so much more than that. And I do love me some sexy music. ❀

So, I’m taking back my Maysa. She’s on the playlist again. For keeps.
Just listen to these 5 songs and you’ll hear why…(it’s worth it girlz. Trust me! πŸ˜‰ )

So fine. So very fucking fine.

Lay close to that someone.

And. Kiss. Deep.

Sigh…

  1. Nice! I have never heard of her until now Tdot. She has a beautiful voice and yes, I can see how this would make a sexy backdrop for lovemaking. Thanks for sharing and now I will make my own playlist that includes Ms Maysa Leak. πŸ˜‰

    1. Love that you called her Ms Maysa lol. That’s how I think of her too! Kinda reverent like ya know? πŸ˜‰ And yes, she had that sexy vibe for sure! πŸ˜‰

  2. I can relate to this music completely! I think you have to be at a certain stage in life to get it lol. I love when you share artists and their music! I had never heard of Maysa before this post. Sadly, too many good artists get lost in the hype and fast-paced commercialism we are all prey to these days. I’m happy to find music that reminds me of the sweet slowness of love. Thank you for sharing! She’s got a wonderful sound. I see why you like her and how under the right conditions, this could lead to…intimacy πŸ˜‰ Lol. ❀

    1. Agreed! Maturity and wisdom help when relating to certain types of music, especially now adays when so much of our music doesn’t have much depth. I must be an old soul tho, cuz my 13-18 year old self fell in love with these songs when I first heard them. Maysa just sings them with a female perspective and for me, at this time in my life, that was a song changer lol. I love her! I’m glad you enjoyed listening to her. And yesssss, under the right conditons…hahaha. ❀
